FRIDAY - SEPTEMBER 3, 2010

Thanks to my new home office setup I can now update the website with relative ease. Got new everything pretty much and aside from updating this News section. I'll be uploading audio and attaching links to vids and whatnot. There's a wealth of them out there and I'm gonna spend time to organize everything I got :)

By the way, Soul Alley's upcoming CD release party will be held on October 20, 2010 at the House of Blues Foundation Room in Boston. It's gonna be a real awesome show so make sure to properly hydrate.

WEDNESDAY - JULY 28, 2010

Hopefully I'll be able to update the website quicker than every once a month, not much content added but am compiling what I got as usual so I can do a major update all at once.

Added a new mp3 on the audio page, it's about a minute long F# bass slap solo that I threw together. I've been using it as a sort of music business card for auditions, been helping me so far so I thought I'd share it. I'll be adding more musical musings as time moves on.

I've been working on the Bach Cello Suites for a number of years now and am looking to record what I've got for the general population's listening pleasure. It's just something that I need to get off my chest so to speak, they are beautiful pieces and they are not particularly challenging to learn. It helps my memory and the real benifit of these pieces are being able to discover the voice of the instrument.

So, yeah :) If you're interested, keep checking here for regular updates.

On more technical matters, I haven't been that on top of social networking sites due to me being more of a recluse and I enjoy just doing nothing but practicing at home. Today's super fast-paced, short-attention spanned, society dictates that I get on this bandwagon though. So, I do my best and hopefully don't get too overwhelmed by the complexity of juggling numerous websites and other things.

I'm not gonna be tweeting anything anytime soon, I hardly even update my facebook status. Baby steps...

What I do want to accomplish though is being able to update one thing (preferably this website) and it being able to just post or notify everything else that I just made awesome changes and now everyone has to make it seem that my updates have just improved their lives. I've been using Picasa to handle the photos, and Google calendar to stay on top of my gig schedule. These blog-type updates will be handled via RSS feeds i guess as soon as I figure out how to make that happen.

TUESDAY - JUNE 29, 2010

Whew! It sure has been a while since I last updated the page, life's been moving at warp speed lately. Me and my wife, Maya, are now proud parents of wonderful baby Mico :) I've received a lot of advice from my peers, some say that my life as a musician is now over, others show that it can only make you better at everything because you have someone to prove your worth to. I definitely agree with the latter but there are truths with not having as much freedom as I once had. Practice time, rehearsals, gigs, and meetings have to be carefully thought out and planned and everything has to be done with purpose. I never was one to schedule anything in detail but if I want (and it is a "want" and not a "need"), if I want to succeed at both parenting and being a musician, then the most logical approach is to excel at both at whatever the cost.

Deep thoughts, I know. :)

I'll be posting up transcriptions and lead sheets soon, I'm just compiling what I have and creating them in Finale now. I'm fairly quick with it but I only spend 1-2 hrs a day doing that stuff since I'm still transcribing and practicing a number of new stuff for the bass which will soon be recorded for your listening/viewing pleasure :)

The music is alive more than ever, Alley Blues is now Soul Alley and she is gaining tremendous momentum as the release of the debut album nears. We'll be attending and performing at the Singer/Songwriter showcase in Knoxville, TN come August. I see great things ahead for her.

The Prince Tribute band, LoVeSexy, is taking off as well playing numerous tribute band shows here in the New England area so keep an eye on the calendar and be sure to show your love and support for the music of Prince. :)

FRIDAY - DECEMBER 17, 2009

Added photos from the SPM-Project O.N.S. studio recording sessions :) It's from April 2008 and both Hiroshi and Aman are back in their respective homelands. The album is pretty much done but I have been experiencing minor issues in the final stages. Please be patient. In the meantime, help yourself to two of the tracks that are gonna be on the album :) They are great and I can't wait to get the album out there.

Also, added Sweatshop by Takaya Kawasaki on the audio page. Good time J-pop sounds.

WEDNESDAY - DECEMBER 16, 2009

Updated the design of the site once again :) Added more photos to the slide show and added additional music on the audio page. The calendar is constantly being updated so check it out often to know when I'll next be playing and who I'm gonna be playing with.^^

LoVeSeXy - tribute to the music of Prince - is taking off and the singer, Kobie Ali, is awesome! I highly recommend checking out that show whenever you get a chance. I'm also gonna be performing with him doing his originals. Stay tuned for those dates :)

Alley Blues has finished recording the upcoming CD and is now in the process of mixing and mastering. I suggest to check out Alley's website often for updates on this and even listen to some sound clips.
