The VGO

vgo_logoThe Video Game Orchestra is a unique orchestra combining the grace of a symphony orchestra and choir with the high-energy of a rock band, performing the most elaborate and exciting arrangements of video game music. The mix of rock and orchestra creates an all new and unique style of “Rockestral” game music, and the VGO has not only made thousands of fans jump to their feet in the US, such as our Live at the Boston Syphony Hall show, but successfully brought their concept to Asia.

“The choir was haunting, the rock band was well, rockin’, and the orchestra tugged at our heartstrings. Fans of video game music in general should be kicking themselves for missing this once-in-a-
lifetime opportunity.”

Project O.N.S. is a music collective led by Louis Ochoa, one of the preeminent bass players in the Boston area.  He has collaborated with a variety of talented musicians in the Boston music scene, including Jamie Lynn Hart and the John Hanifin Band. Since 2012, he has been the bass player for the world-famous rockestral (rock orchestra) group, the Video Game Orchestra.

Project O.N.S. is a three-piece collective that blends the nuances of jazz-fusion with the energy of funk and electronic dance music. Our debut album “Standard Pleasure Model” is available for download on iTunes and CDBaby.

Project O.N.S. started as the brainchild of Louis Ochoa during his final semester at the Berklee College of Music, together with Hiroshi Sembon on drums and Aman Mahajan on Keys. Their debut album – Standard Pleasure Model – is an EP of five original tracks featuring an eclectic fusion of jazz, funk, and drum & bass. Louis Ochoa’s musical repertoire also includes his inspired arrangements, which covers a wide array of genres —  from fusion (Weather Report, Return to Forever, The Bad Plus), to classic funk (Graham Central Station, Stanley Clark), to today’s most popular electronic dance music (Savant, Zedd, The Rogue Element, Sound Tribe Sector 9).

Project O.N.S. is currently working on its sophomore EP and it features the incredible talents of Chris Enright on Piano/Keys, Shunsuke Uehara (VGO, Masahiro Aoki) on Drums, and Noriko Terada (VGO, Tap Dogs) on Percussion. Release date will be in Spring 2018.

You can sample and purchase the debut album from Project O.N.S., Standard Pleasure Model, at Cdbaby.com and please visit the video section of the site for our latest performance videos.
